Mineral White with Coral or Black?
About to order my new e92 M Sport on Monday. I'm sold on Mineral White but can't decide on Coral or Black leather.
I've seen all the pics but still can't make my mind up. I'm minded to go with Coral, but is it too Bling? But then again is Black the boring option? Subjective I know but does anyone have strong opinions on this. |

Most definitely BLACK.
Also at resale time, it is a fact Black leather has far ranging appeal across many age groups - therefore many many more potential buyers. Red interiors are very much an 'acquired taste' by the minority of the population.

I myself wouldn't buy any car with a red interior but this is your money that's being spent so buy what you like.
Resale isn't too much of an issue, it may be harder to shift privately but I doubt it'll affect the trade-in value too much. |

That's were the main impact will be.
Dealers look for every reason under the sun to screw you on trade in price... and if they know they have a car with an interior that appeals to 5 to 10% of the population - they will nail you to the wall on price. Mainstream black leather appeals to the other 90%... so make your own mind up what offers the best ROI.

decisions decision... coral IMO but that's me. As others have said, black has more resale value, where red appeals to a niche population, but then again, those looking to buy an E92 M Sport must already have a thing about cars and therefore, may really be taken by the red interior.
Black - Safe and standard Coral - Personal but classy G. luck and post up some pics. |

Mineral White is bling enough without bright red leather trim. Go for black.
My last car was silver on red. Current car is black on black. Next will be white on black if I stay with BMW

Coral red.
Also, was it not one of our very own members who said something along the lines of spec'ing a car or not driving it (so as to keep the mileage down) to protect the resale value is like not banging your girlfriend to keep her in mint condition for the next guy? |

I like the black leather. Two reasons, the coral is too bright, I saw a white / coral combo the other day and it looked tacky to my eyes and secondly unlike porsche the dash is black and not wrapped in the same leather as the seats so it looks a bit unfinished with so much black in the car along with a eye burning Red!
I like the tan interior myself, when I got my 1er I wished I had got the terra leather but I had black on black and was more than happy. My 3er is black with the cream interior and its nice and light but not the prettiest of choices. |

Go with red if you fancy it, you buy a car to enjoy while you own it, not on the fact, it might be worth another £200 when you sell it.

+1, if you are keeping the car a couple of years, buy what you like, not what the next guy might. It wasnt that long ago that people would have told you that white appealed to the minority and would afftect resale

Thanks for all the input. It certainly divides opinion!
Resale value isn't something I think about much. Just want to get the right car for me and not regret my decision 3 months down the line. I think if I went for black I might feel a bit timid, but then again..... |

I had coral in my black car.
Let's put it this way, if i were spec'ing that car again I'd keep the red leather but change the black to White exterior. White and red is a winning combo for me. Plenty of time for boring interior when your 60+
