Can any CAs confirm this?
I was told there was a recent issue with the production of the engines for E92s that caused dealer allocations for this month to be trimmed back. Is my sales manager BS'ing me? I was told last week that I would get a week 16 slot and now he is saying I should be in week 18 or 19 but that he won't know for sure 21 days when the allocations are released. Can any of the CAs around here weigh in?
thanks |

I ordered my car on Nov. 30th. Picked up 3/1. My CA told me the day I picked up if I were to order then I wouldn't have seen the car till June.
I don't think he's b.s.ing you. |

yes he is BSing you and a total idiot
we have known for a long time now that they cant build the n54 engine fast enough to meet demand, now with the introduction of the 335 convertable and the n54 going into the new five series demand has probably atleast doubled you cant build 2x as many cars with the same number of engines

there was a bulletin at one point this month with a discussion of a limitation on the engines which were due to a shortage of the turbos. That said, it didn't push back any cars... it just made it so we couldn't change 328's into 335's. THAT SAID, we got a bulletin today stating that tomorrow we'll be able to turn 328's into 335's now these are only sedans, but I can't imagine they would do this if there was some sort of a shortage.

Hey royal - you work at Otto's? Just curious, you don't have to answer that publically.

I ordered mine on 3/23. The OC shows that it is scheduled for production, but I called the 800# this morning, and it stated that it has been released to a carrier, and awaiting transportation.

E92's
I'am a CA in NY, working for the largest dealership in the region. We recieved the allocations yesterday and I will tell you that the whole eastern region only got 19 cars. We did not get any. My dealership currently has about 27 coupes on an "order bank".
I hope this sheds some light to your question. |

We promise that if we come to see you, it will only be to buy stuff. Oh wait, you're in PA... my parole officer usually doesn't let me leave the state.

I actually don't have a problem with people knowing where I work (I'm proud of it actually, considering I'd never sold cars before and landed a job at the best dealership I've ever visited.) I just don't want to be construed as advertising or drumming up business. I'm here because I'm an enthusiast, not because I sell cars. I'm also not a paying vendor and there are CA's that are who would have the right to be upset if I was soliciting business.
for the reference, I'm in Bucks County

I ordered March 4th, build date confirmed earlier today by my dealer to be week 17 (week of Apr 23). Appears to be on-schedule and the dealer made no comments about delays.
