The production coupe shown here is the first of four M3 variants. A convertible, sedan and wagon also are in the works, the convertible fitted with a folding aluminum hard top.

Hmm...the article states theirs no SMG thats going to be available. So im assuming that BMW will put their new Double Clutch system into the new m3 then.

as i sit here with my co-audi-worker.... we ponder. this car will be so heavily marked up, that the price will in fact be close to an RS4, and already being a year old.
and with the M3 having less torque...
did BMW drop the ball on this one?

It'll be interesting to see what comes out in the final product. I'm thinking we'll all be surprised.

The hood bubble looks like the 350Z.

I can't believe the new v8 will weigh less than the outgoing inline 6!

I don't think so but we won't know until it comes out. I am pretty sure the new m3 will be nothing short of being amazing. Also, a lot of dealers are taking deposit with msrp guarented. Mark Ups are entirely up to the dealer not BMW so the fault shall be placed on the dealer if markups do exist

Car and Driver said the same thing in their article last month. It seemed unlikely, but maybe there is actually some truth in it.

Assuming its true, the question is, will it weight significantly less than the E93 335i? Course either way, it'll have a lower COG. Starting to wonder if I shouldn't at least get on the waiting list for this car.

The S54 has an iron block, making it pretty heavy. The N54, even with turbos and associated plumbing, is still 30lbs less than the new S65 V8. Not that I am saying that the V8 is heavy mind you, especially for a V8.

Mind that it's 0-62mph not 0-60. It can be quite a difference sometimes.

Don't worry, with Audi's history of depreciation, you can sell your high mileage 325i and buy a mint RS4
