Dealer damaged my rim

Brought my car in today for the first oil change (3800 miles) and had them change my winter rims back to the summer rims. When i got home I noticed that the left rear rim was damaged right where the rim meets the tire. After my blood pressure returned to normal I called the ca and he agreed right away to have it repaired for nothing. I was relieved. One minute after I hung up the ca called back tho confirm my appointment and asked me "not to kill him" when BMWNA calles for a service report. I told him not to worry as long as he makes it right. I hope they do a good job.

You mean SA?

Glad you were treated right. It's always a really good idea to inspect the car before you leave. He could have played hard ball and said it didn't happen there. Sounds like you have a good dealership.

Seriously though, that's great to hear. I thought this was going to be another incident where someone got home, noticed the damage and would have a hard time proving it was the dealer.

the key here is that you called the same day, the service report people usually call within a day or two, after that i bet he wouldnt have been some accomodating

besides that you should always walk around your car before and after a service apointment

The important thing this is they admitted their mistake and made an appointment right away. I am sure they would do a good job because I'm sure you're not the first one

haha how'd you decide on 3800 for the 1st oil change? I wanted to do it at around 1600, I just chose that number in advance. Today when I called to schedule, the lady was insistent I don't need it regardless of if I want to pay for it. I told her the svc. mgr. even said if it were his car and he wanted to keep it, he'd do it. She just put me into voicemail and didn't schedule me. When I told my g/f, she said that is so unusual that they don't want your money for the oil change!

SA's name was Mike Henreich. First time I'Ve seen him. I usually use Paul G who is great. He has been my SA for 9 years for the 540. I wanted to change the oil at about 5000 miles and I wanted to put the rims back on. It was close enough. I think the first couple of thousand miles of an engines life puts alot of metals into the oil so I changed it now. I could have waited a couple of more weeks but it's a very low mileage car. 6 months and only 3800 miles.

Ahhh so you are the owner of that car

I didn't work on it but did yours happen to be a white e90 that had a rear tire replaced on it?

Mike is new. I work for Paul Giaquinto's team, and for as much as I know hes the last remaining SA that everyone knows...the only SA with his own clientel list lol. If you can, try to stick with Paul, even if it means haggling the girls at the front desk to set an appointment with him. He does his very best with his customers, although it is hard to please everyone.

I will admit our facility is nice, if our tire machine would stop breaking:mad: . We've had a new Corgi unit that was well into the 20k range for it I believe, but the tech support with them is lousy as hell. We've been waiting almost 2 weeks for them to come fix it. Hunter on the other hand, is there that day if we call him. It kinda sucks that their machines are much more difficult to use with runflats (especially the larger sizes) without a risk of damaging something.

Sorry to hear about your incident though. I'm pretty sure they are doing everything they possibly can to right it.

In general the service is great. itsbrokeagain is right. Paul Giaquinto is the man.
Every time he takes care of me I give him $20. Its amazing what can get done.
