Odometer problem

First off, I searched and didn't come up with any related results.
Yesterday, when I got home, the car had about 1025km on the odo. This morning when I got the car started, it read 1675km ... I would like to know if anyone else experienced this "jump" in their mileage? I find this really odd since the car was in the garage all night and there's no way those 650 km could have been accumulated within the that timeframe....

*problem solved*

Did your guages not work for a while , or something like that ?

the E90 stores milage in more than 1 place, and updates the lower ones when they are reconnected ( eg, if you disconnected your cluster an then drove around, the system would update the cluster to the new milage when it was reconnected )

Hmmm...did the Odom somehow change to Miles from Kilometers? This could accidently happen if you were adjusting some of the settings in the Computer set up??
Just a thought..the conversion is really close.

Exactly...
1025 (miles) x 1.609 = 1650 (km)

Oh my god, I think I know why now..
This morning I used the other key which I never used since I had the car, so maybe that key had the odo settings set at kilometers whereas the key I always use has it set to miles..

I had a similar problem last summer where my gas mileage suddenly took a leap. One day it was around 21 mpg and the next morning it was around 26.5 mpg. The only difference was using the secondary key. This happened to be set to Imperial gallons instead of the US gallons. Imperial gallons are 25% more.

Where was your wife last night? Take the difference of that mileage and divide by two. Any motels at that distance from your house?

j/k

Yeah, I figured it was a UOM thing.... that's funny though.

Roger on the kids.

Off topic but I did it when I was 15. Got pulled over by a motorcycle cop on a hill, didn't set the emergency brake or put it in gear, got out to confirm the headlight was out...and there she went....into and over the motorcycle. The cop was not a happy camper. Neither was my parents.
