Custom steering wheel from Alex@helix review

So about a month ago I started contemplating whether I wanted to pull the trigger on buy a new steering wheel for my car. I did plenty of searching and decided I really like the idea of Alex@helix Mtech/tricolor/alcantara wheel however the only review I could find was from Magic Man so I wanted to give my own review.

First is of Alex. The night I decided to buy the wheel, he was responding to my PM’s at 1 am on Saturday night. This guy takes his customers very seriously. At first, because I had gone with extra padding on the wheel he thought it would take 3 weeks, but the wheel was shipped out within a week. The wheel was well packaged and Alex’s communication was great.

The wheel itself is absolutely beautiful and if I didn’t know better I would have thought it was made by BMW. The perforated leather is a perfect match to the leather on the mtech shift knob. I highly recommend the extra-padding it’s awesome. It truly redefines the driving experience and I LOVE it. Also the extra padding on 6MT wheel is not quite as large that on the Automatic which is why Magic Man’s was thicker. I have only had the wheel on for about two weeks and have received several compliments from co-workers, my dad, and even my wife agrees it was money well spent. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Well not a lot but I have noticed I have to press quite hard for it to work both before and after the wheel exchange. The previous owner may have laid into it as well.
