Opinions/Info on e90 C/F Hood
Okay,
I've done some research on C/F hoods for my 2006 e90. I found out that Vorsteiner no longer makes an e90 hood (vendor contacted Vorsteiner directly), so they're out completely Unless there is someone with a used one or old stock from a vendor. If anyone can chime in on the following hoods I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm more interested in a double-sided hood rather than a single sided. I was able to pick up a single sided Vorsteiner CSL trunk recently. Just need the hood now. Also, if someone has approximate weights I'd really appreciate it. Vendors - please chime in. I am DEFINITELY ordering something this week. Akrym Aerorace e90 hood - seems like the best bet for what I'm looking for. Anyone with any experience with Akrym? $2500 for double-sided is a bit more than I wanted to spend. http://www.**********s.com/Arkym-E90...Fiber-Hood.htm Seibon - I've heard not so great things from what I remember on the forum. Anyone else can chime in? Only $736 seems too cheap to me. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/b...3_Series_05_11 VIS Racing - I don't know anything about this company or it's quality. Pricing varies based on model. The one I'd be interested in is $1272. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/r...8-p-86701.html Any other suggestions? I'm on the East Coast so shipping will come into play more than likely. Don't even bother suggestiong Ericsson or VRS. WAY too much! Thanks for your help.

I bougt a VIS CF hood for my e92 and the fitment was crap. Not sure about Seibon. Might try a Seibon hood next if something happens to the VIS one I have right now.

I'm willing to sell it because it's a too big big for my taste. Interested? I'm in Northern NJ. |

Too late
You're all a bit too late. I got a Carbon 8 hood that looks pretty much exactly like the Vorsteiner. **********s hooked me up again!

FRP is a composite, simlar to plastic used on some OEM parts.
I don't konw exactly how much it was for paint on the hood alone. I had them install and paint both the hood and the trunk at the same time. They also painted my side mirrors. The place literally works on Ferrari's and Lambo's every day. It was $2K total for everything. I'd imagine just paint for the hood, minus install would be around $600.
