3 series steering wheels replaced with other BMW models

Hello, I just got my 2011 328i.

I was just wondering if I could change the stock leather steering wheel to be the same as the steering wheels found in the 135i or BMW M5 (2003-2010)? I really like these two steering wheels, didn't get the Sports Package cause my wife said its too firm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1) never let your wife make decisions on cars
2) you can replace the wheel with the M3 wheel or Mtech wheel but you need to also get the sport airbag and bracket for it.

Is my girlfriend better than your wife?

Its all a matter of opinion. Go to the dealer and check them out. Although I dont know if the 5er wheel will fit.

You would need to find out ofthe wheels have the same number of splines, and make sure they have the same sniz electronics wise...unless you are up to rewiring the steering wheel side of everything.

Man I feel so sorry for guys coming on here talking about their wives.... Here ya go, get this wheel:

I did, its awesome.

Not sure if youre coming from a sport wheel so you might need a sport airbag as JK335 says.

BTW when your wife says the sports package is too firm you just say nothing and think about how sweet that divorce will be.
With my girlfriend I have found sucess with undoing her seatbelt, unlocking the doors and telling her I hate long goodbyes.

Guys I've decided to get this steering wheel, it comes with the airbag and buttons

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E...#ht_2561wt_989

But the buttons are different from my steering wheel:

Will this be ok? I'm not familiar with the functions of those buttons

if they don't match your buttons, it will not work without rewiring stuff and possibly leaving some buttons unfunctional. Not a good idea.

The buttons are interchangeable. Just use your buttons.

The star and diamond are from the pre 09s I believe. It should still work in your car.
