Cornering light replaced by LED?

Hey guys,

I know the new BMW's are coming with LED angel eyes from the factory but I didn't realize the cornering blubs were LED as well. I saw one turning in front of me last night and saw the beautiful blueish cornering light.

I'm researching which LED to go with for the angel eyes and have found lots of information but has anyone installed LED cornering blubs?

The cornering light is still a regular halogen in the LCI 3-series (both sedan and coupe).

Do you know which car you saw (3, 5, X3)? It could have just been a BMW owner who replaced the bulb to match their HIDs and coronas.

i dont think you will get the smooth fade in/fade out if you switch your cornering bulbs to LEDs. Like the idea though.

I was considering it, but I wasn't sure if using LEDs would diminish the actual function of cornering lights.

Are you sure they were LEDs and not like a different kelvin temperature H3 bulb?

It could be possible they switched their bulbs but it sure did look nice!

I have re-coded my car to disable the fade for both the cornering lights and the angel eyes (when unlocking/locking the car)

Guess I'll just order some leds for the angel eyes and leave the cornering bulbs as is. Has anyone on here ordered from Umnitza?

I think they're still halogen due to functionality. I could have gotten the LED cornering option with my OSS, but opted out due to significantly decreased light output. I lived without these beauties before, but now that I have them on my car I actually value the brightness of a halogen solution and being able to actually SEE the corner areas

Agreed. If you want to match the color output from your factory xenons, just pick up some color matched halogens. I've heard good things about the 4350K MTEC bulbs.

Mtec cosmos blue 4750ks here and philips 6700k D1S xenons. They match my OSS angels quite well. LOVE them.

Check these out......... http://store.ijdmtoy.com/H3-LED-Bulb..._h3_sku_4f.htm

I plan on calling them to see if they are fade in/out. I like the fade feature. More important however is not having error codes.. I'll report back. Really surprised no one has an H3 LED review yet for the cornering light!!!!!!!!

I'd be extremely impressed if those were A) bright enough and B) didnt error out.

FYI more LED's doesnt mean they are brighter. You can get just as much light output if not more with 1/4 of the LED that are high output.

Which bulb are you trying to replace? Cornering light? Not sure which bulb that is as people have different names for each light.

Called IJDMtoy and they said basically that the H3 would have the fade in/out feature but I would have to add a resistor which I am fine with ordering and installing on my car. ($6.99).

I can post some pics after I receive and install.

H3 Bulb ($34.99)
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/ProductDeta...%5F4F&CartID=3

Resistor ($6.99)
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/50W-Load-Re...d_resistor.htm

Additionally I am purchasing LED front turn signals, 60 degree angel eyes and license plate leds.

Next purchase is going to be a cobb accessport... hmm wonder where i can get one for a good price!
