Half Engine Light??

Driving on the freeway car, got the half engine light, loss of power, turned the car off and on, no engine light but the car feels slow, like no boost is kicking. On the way home got it scanned from shop, with just a generic scanner, no codes popped up.

If it was the HPFP, that should throw a code even after the car was turned off and on. Take it to the dealership and have them scan it for shadow codes.

First off, generic scanner sucks butt, a BT tool is well worth it's weight in gold. Most likely HPFP, but could be just about anything without a proper scan. Injectors, Vanos, boost leak, blown turbo, ..... you get the point. Take out your mods and get is to a dealer.

The half engine light merely means you are driving a 335i with a high pressure fuel pump. Nothing to worry about, completely normal, move along.

I was driving normally on the freeway at 77 mph, and out of no where i get the charm noise and I thought i was low on gas, but the center console had a engine that was half colored, and at the same time the power was reduced. Then i get on a off ramp, turned the car off, turned it back on, the light went away, but still seems to drive under powered. No strange noises either
