08 335i E90 overheated?
So my car overheated today. I had just driven the car for 15mins before I parked. When I turned it on again I could hear my fans going crazy in the engine, but the oil temp was normal and there were no warnings messages.
Then after about 5mins of driving I get the yellow warning telling me to slow down so as I'm on the off ramp I get the red warning telling mr to pull over and turn off the car. I called bmw assist and she told me to turn it on again and see what happens. But I noticed it was leaking coolant on the passengers side. The engine bay had some coolant on the expansion tank but nothing big and when I opened it (after letting it cool) it was out of coolant. There was no smoke or any "burning" smell so I don't think the block or head gasket were damaged. My question is if BMW CPO will cover this, I know it does not cover hoses but it does cover the Cooling system. At first I thought I was low on coolant but I was never given a warning even while driving. If this has happened to anyone I would love to hear from your experience in dealing with this. Thank you!
