For those of you that used Lamin-x on your taillights

How many bubbles did you have when you were finished? How long did they take to go away? Did they go away completelyl?

Really? Either you're really good at installing it or I'm just terrible. I have quite a few bubbles and had a hell of a time with the install. The video I watched stated that the material is breathable and that the bubbles should come out with a few weeks of heat and sunlight. Hopefully that's the case.

No bubbles at all. I went with the "smoked" look.

You need to use soapy(baby shampoo) water in a spray bottle and squeegee.
Take your time and it should come out perfect.

I didnt know you should use soapy water. The bottle that comes with the lamin-x kit was empty so I just used filtered water. I went with the smoked look but I have quite a few bubbles in mine.

Yeah, same as the clear-guard. Some of the bubbles might go away with the heat from sun, but I would have to see what they looked like.

i used a paint called night shades from Pep boys, spray 2 light coats for a smoked looked 3 coats for a dark look, you can actually take the paint off if you want with a cloth with acetone or alcohol if you end up not liking, no bubbles took like 10 mins.

Garage List
Used Light Smoke Laminex on my tails - no bubbles.

I practiced 1st with light smoke on my fogs, then clear on headlights, tails last.

Did have a couple tiny bubbles on the one headlight (appeared to be from the soapy water solution I used - they came out on their own after about 2 weeks in the sun as they state.

I did use plenty of soapy water solution misted on headlight and reverse side of film when applying.

Some times, if you have large bubble you can't get out, you can simply prick the center of the bubble with a needle or pin - then squeegee over the bubble to force the trapped air out thru the pin hole. Laminex film should self heal the pin prick as long as you don't overdo it...

Yeah I read that about poking the small hole and getting the water out that way. Might have to do that in a few weeks. If all else fails, I may just remove the film and use the spray that Racer77 mentioned.
