i don't think you need to buy clips to swap them out. all you need is a trim remover tool (or a flathead screw driver w/ a microfiber towel over it or something). when you take off your trim the white plastic female parts should stay on the door, and the new trim should have pegs that go into those white plastics.
when my trim was being taken off the white plastic came off with the trim, but you can just put it back on the door if that happens. takes quite a bit of force though to put back on the door |

The trim just pops off. If you can change a light bulb you can change trim. Don't be a sucker and pay you dealer to do it.

he is right some of the wood ones are stuck on there and cannot be removed. I had wood interior and had to buy the parts from bmw. They do not have them at a local hardware place. Came up to 20 bucks.

As long as you'd bought the trim from an authorized source, i.e. a dealership in your case, even if you had installed the trim yourself, the dealership would still had to honor the warranty of the product against defects in workmanship. It's super easy to install the trim, there's nothing technical or difficult about it, your dealership is not going to say "yeah, the trim faded because you put it in wrong, so the product warranty is invalid".

You buy it from the dealership and install it yourself, that's what I was trying to get at. No need to pay the dealership to have this installed.

The new trim comes with all the pins you need. Don't waste your money ordering parts you won't need.
It's correct that the pins are molded in to some of the wood trim pieces, but the new trim will come with pins. I swapped out my wood trim for the black trim ordered from Tischer. Came with all the pins already on the pieces.
