I found these images on a Taiwan forum and thought it would be fun to get flamed on this fourm lol. I don't know if all the BMW accessory book are the same through out the world, but BMW in Taiwan has this OEM LED Daylight running light offered as an option.

Not sure on labor; realoem.com has the info and part numbers on the retrofit if you're interested in it

Puke. What was wrong with sticking to the trademark, distinctive angel eyes? Why make it look like every merc, audi, porsche, Chrysler, etc etc.

I don't think these LED strips will survive. A lot of people like them so the manufacturers are adopting them. I think they're butt ugly on most vehicles but there are a few that look good with them.

I like the Audi style to be honest. But it is an AUDI style. Why BMW feels the need, who knows. But like it was mentioned, its the current style.. gotta roll with it until people get tired of it.

I am of the same opinion. I love the LED strip on P-cars; I think it looks great.

The guy with the X5 and the WJ plate lives near me. I asked him about the LEDs too, I was surprised they are OEM too.
Chav-tastic if you ask me!! A5/S5/A4 . . .loving the LEDs on those...everything else..why? And BMW has the halos, so they already have a 'branded' DRL setup..why are they going with LED strips too? Look at the new S class facelift...seems like the designer let his 7 year old do the LED lighting! |

Disgusting. The only manufacturer that can pull off LED strip / integrated in headlight integrated design has to be VAG. BMW does a good job providing strong identity w/ the AE so why even bother w/ LED strips. Take a look at every other manufacturer outside the VAG, no one has succeeded integrating a nice LED DRL without looking tacky or a design afterthought.

Aston Martin Vantage looks cohesive.. and that came out before the R8.
Some Audi LED's are blander than others (TT, A4, Q5 vs R8, S5, A3). The newest Touareg looks good to me. I hate Porsche LED's except on the Panamera Turbo projectors. Last edited by CAPSGOD; 05-13-2011 at 03:41 AM.. |
