Why I don't like full serve
Yesterday, the attendant dropped the gas cap and it bounced off the 1/4. Later I looked and there was a scratch, not sure if from this time or another, who knows. Made me think back to the squeegee man who scratched the car when I wouldn't give him any money. Then, the pump stops after .7 gal goes in, and it takes the attendant another 3-5 min to come back, seeing as he handles 3 islands all by himself. I just broke the law and pumped it myself, because it takes a BMW sometimes 4-5 times of stopping and restarting to get the tank filled.

My personal favorite is when they back hand the fuel door shut while having a ring on their finger.
Because of this I put "clearbra" over the gas door and a clearbra bib beneath the fuel door. No worries now...

in Oregon, it's illegal for you to pump your own gas as well, and you have to let the attendant fill up your car. When I was visiting, I started to pump my own gas out of habit, and a dude came running over yelling at me that I wasn't allowed to do that, haha.

No. If it's bad weather outside I used to tip though. Also, I would go to the same gas station with the same attendant, tipped him and got to know him.....he took care of me
I love these jokers who park their car a mile away....it's a damn 3-Series...not an exotic. I was at a Home Depot the other day, saw some 328i parked across the lot, walked up to the store and there was a 430 right there with all the "commoners". Sure it's good to take care of your car, but I don't go too far out of my way. Just stay away from minivans and those cars with the stupid family stick figures on the window.

YES and it gets me so pissed off! It's usually some big POS with 8' long doors too! I think they do it intentionally.

Actually minivans are great to park next to. The doors are tall but not long. Think about it. Plus the occupants basically drop out of the car so they don't need lot of room like a coupe would. Also the back doors slide so they can't hit you. Kids piling out of suburbans scare me. Doors are tall also but kids not paying attention and basically anyone driving them has a sense of entitlement. LIke BMW owers think they do! I try to park on the ends to reduce to 50% someone being next to me and try to park on passanger side to also reduce the chance. We know a car has to have a driver but not a passanger. |

Frankly I don't give a shit what kind of car someone drives. I can promise you most 3 series owners including myself work just as hard for our money as the guy with the f430, but perhaps us "commoners" have less disposible income to throw around to fix shit or perhaps it's our only car so we like to take care of it. The guy with the f430 will probably just go buy another one when it gets dented, or hop into his GT3 or Bently. Last edited by cssnms; 05-12-2011 at 02:13 PM.. |

I work hard for my stuff. Nothing pisses me off more than a person's blatant disregard for another person's property. The 3 is my DD, I know it's not an exotic. That doesn't mean I want someone in a rush slamming their door into my car, not backing up properly and scraping the bumper, etc. It happens all too often. The bit of peace of mind (an extra exercise) from parking far away is worth it to me.

full serve baby. fkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk I hate full serve... the no sales tax is legit, but full serve... we don't need no petroleum transfer technicians here
haha, sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes for someone to come over and pump for you, if I ever suspect it is going to take longer than 2 minutes to get an attendant I get out of my car and start eyeing the pump as if I'm going to make a move.. someone comes over immediately little trick living here for over 20 years |

You can always point out a NJ or OR driver in another state, they usually wait in their car or scratch their heads looking at the pump Partially kidding, knew a woman from NJ who didn't know how to pump her own gas when she moved to PA.
