I'm usually not a search nazi, but this has gotten crazy lately... I mean.. Google spends what, probably a billion a year in advertisements for their company and owns half the world now? Yet, we still don't know how to use it? I try to be helpful when I know the answer, but it has gotten insane. "Hey what does this mean? I didn't read my manual or search online, so please help me!" "I own a $40-60,000 car and didn't bother to do any research on it, so can you please tell me why this happens?"

Yea, I contribute on a travel forum, which you think people going to developing countries would be savvy on the searching info front, but it never fails, someone be asking a question thats so easy in any guidebook or a Google search, and more times than not, I swear, its a teacher....

Why is my car louder when it is cold outside and I start it with the key it go VVVBBBRROROMOOOOM where when it is not cold outside it just go vroom like one or two time before get quiet.

oh noes my turbos are locked is that why like my engine make loud clunky noise now it sounds like poppoppoppoppop and sometimes big boom is it because i put in tune X and why do i have blue exhaust smoke in my cabin

Why did Bank of America stop cashing my monthly payment checks? for the 15th straight month they returned it uncashed. I complained to the branch manager that I think this is poor customer service, and very rude. I made it clear to them when I got the 335i that I always want to pay every month indefinitely.

Problem is, you do a search, find 15 threads, all asking the same question, all providing anecdotal answers/wrong answers/off topic answers/threadjacking/personal attacks, when all you really want is a straight answer. No one wants to wade through 20 pages of 20 responses each of crap just to find the needle in the haystack.

This also has some bearing. There was actually a lmgtfy response to a question, and the first result of the google search was the original thread

There are common issues which many are interested in but no one has gotten all the info together into a big ass FAQ to be stickied and make critical responses valid.
