&^## Tint shop! and now broken door seal E92
Im so frustrated! and i only have myself to blame. This tint shop butchered my dot matrix... i found another professional that fixed their mess made it like new...
fast forward 3 months... i end up scratching the drivers window tint, my fault. bring it back to the original shop and they replace the drivers window tint under warranty. As my luck would have it, it actually occurred again... this time what caused the scratch was obvious and was then 100% fixed. so i thought to myself... should i pay to have the guy that fixed my dot matrix retint this, or go back to the place that i dont like and have them do it under warranty (again)... i call the original shop and ask "I just need the model tint you used so i can have anther shop retint the window"... he said listen, i can get you in right now, just come over we'll take care of it, fare enough i figured. that was 3 days ago... they did a good job redoing it, and nothing is scratching it anymore. whew.... Today for the first time since i got the car back, was on the highway above 45. I then hear all this wind and whistling noise coming from right below my left ear. im like how could a tint job cause all this noise? this is def a new noise! turns out after close inspection the rubber molding is torn around the drivers window. its not fair for me to go back there and pin it on them since its been 3 days so im stuck eating this mess and having BMW replace this rubber seal. but it def has to be fixed since there is a now a hole facing UP funneling water into the door seal, as well as creating wind and whistling noise right next to my ear. im so frustrated!!! sorry to vent but i had to get it out. its my own fault. i should have followed my gut and inspected way closer. here is a photo of drivers side tear and the passenger side... torn drivers side, that little section thats pulled out is completely exposed to the elements between the door and the rear body panel. it sits right in the gap... passenger side is correct

who cares if its been 3 days? say you havent driven on the highway until now so you didnt notice it. tint shop should pay for the damages.

this will not be covered under warranty, im on the hook for this. the warranty i was reffering to in the OP was the 3M warranty.
@ cqlik, i agree, but im really just sick of dealing with them, its really my own fault for letting them touch my car again. after they butchered the dot matrix they really had no solution other than "uhh your stuck with it", and then im dumb enough to go back there, TWICE to have them redo the drivers window? im really kicking myself for this. but i just cant stomach going back there and explaining this to them. id imagine this is going to set me back at least $300 bones at BMW. im calling the dealer tomorrow to set up the appointment. i just figured this all out like an hour ago... im a dumbass, i only have myself to blame, another lesson learned with this car...

Just a follow up...
i want to thank you guys for pushing me to at least address this. i was just going to tuck it away as an experience to learn from. I ended up writing a brief 4 paragraph letter to one of the managers, calmly, and politely outlining my experience. I didnt demand, or even ask for anything in return. It was simply a concise summery of what happened with this particular job. To my surprise, I got a check for $300 made out to me, making me whole for the dot matrix repair and door seal repair by BMW. no questions asked. That shop wont see my BMW ever again, but money talks, and i feel like they made a good faith honest effort to settle things. And they did it within 2 days of getting my email. Especially, when i never asked for anything in return.

Every time I have ANYTHING done to my cars there's something to complain about after. That's why I decided to not even get tints. I really want them, but it's not worth them messing up my car.
