How is you mpg after install market ehaust/ tuned

Hi,guys. Perp to get a aftermarket exhaust system.and maybe get a tune. Not sure which one I want after reading the sticker thread. Just want to know how your car runs after install a new exhaust or tuned. What's the mpg?

Also, does anyone know how BMW performance exhaust system works?? I saw that on the BMW official website. If I get a aftermarket exhaust, will it influence my warranty?

Sorry for so many question.

Roughly 410 hp on pump + meth......I saw 30 MPG going from San Fran to LA down I5. She did better on gas at 80 mph vs 65 mph.

BMW Perf. exhaust sounds amazing....it's my 2nd favorite exhuast. However, it's only a muffler, so you are stuck with your mid pipes and cats that go with those. But for $1100 you can find a used downpipe back like AE for the same price. Add some AR downpipes with the exhaust for even better HP gains and sound (note this will void warranty if having turbo work done).

BMW Perf exhaust won't effect anything on the warranty, period dot.

so if i get a aftermarket exhaust, it will not void my warranty. but if i tuned it, it will definitrly void it.
and if is bmw performance exhaust, it will be ok?
any opinion?

Correct, it's a OE BMW part, you are fine with the performance exhuast. Only thing it changes are the mufflers, doesn't touch the cats or mid pipes.

X2
I was pushing 28 mpg when I was traveling 25 miles each way on 280 . Now I work 3.5 miles away, and I get 19.3 mpg.

I agree that you'll get better fuel mileage at 80 than 65.

Just FYI, performance wise, a aftermarket exhaust is the worst bang for the buck. You are lucky to get 10 hp (only if tuned) about 5 hp with no tune, only thing the exhuast will really do on a 335 is change the sound and looks of the tips.

A aftermarket exhaust may well cause warranty issues. The sole exception is the BMW Performance exhaust that is a BMW product made for your car.

I installed a BMW Perf. Exhaust first, then DCI and a JB3. My thinking is the tune and intake can be removed for dealer visits, but the exhaust can't, hence the BMW exhaust.

Also felt that opening up the intake and exhaust should add to the tune. I am going to change to a LSD next, as I don't think this is detectable unless someone is looking for it specifically. Would also like to get a bigger FMIC, but will most likely will wait till the car is out of warranty.

I am in a good situation, as my dealer is mod freindly, but I still plan on proceeding with caution.

Buy it form Tischer BMW for $1100 and take it to an indy shop and install for another $100-200.

OP, what are your goals on having an aftermarket exhaust? Sound, looks, or performance. Because the BMW PE is only good for sound IMO (no exhaust will give you much Hp and the PE tips are just ugly).

PE sounds very good but don't get exhaust alone for hp gains. The biggest power gainer along the exhaust pathway is replacing the downpipes and removing cats which will smell like a WT river boat + you won't pass smog when that time comes.
