Farewell E90Post: 335i Gone, Welcome Home DI & TT 3.5L :)
This is somewhat old news since it happened back in March of 2011 but I sold my 2008 335i E90 and my 1999 Chevy Tahoe and replaced both vehicles with a 2011 Ford F-150 4x4 Ecoboost. So this is my farewell post to E90post; however, I'm not going very far, I'll still be posting on M3Post since I replaced my 97 M3 with an E92 M3. It's truly been a pleasure, take care and happy motoring.
Here's the details on the F-150 and some pictures to make this thread worthwhile. I'm looking forward to the day that this F-150 will be pushing out 500whp but so far very little aftermarket support. 2011 F-150 Crew Cab 4x4 Ecoboost "Alpine" White on Tan Cloth Options: XLT, Chrome, Sync, Max Tow, Tailgate Step MSRP: $42,150 Mods: 20% Tint, Rhino Spray-In Bed Liner, awesome vanity plate, cowboy hat

Congratulations! Good luck! Definitely a good choice of vehicle movement.

Nice dude. Ecoboost is definitely great. I read about a couple weeks ago that 36% of all F150's were being bought with ecoboost.

Please review this fine publication, it is packed full of information on how to shed your disgusting yankee lifestyle and adopt one in which you feel that Texas is truly it's own nation. By the way, we wear straw hats, they are lighter and more comfortable in this Texas Heat. Welcome to Texas! -Nate

Interesting choice, that 3.5L is also turbo direct injection, similar to the N54. Should be able to easily last 10-12 years without problems (except tranny) as F150's last. nice!

That is a nice truck for sure. Is it your daily driver? What do you use the bed for?

+1 Tranny will be the weak link if boosting it up from stock and towing at that level. Just make sure you stay within the load capacity, too many truck owners tow way more than they should, see all the time when towing the boats out.

Nice truck, how about a review? I looked at the new F-150s, like the Ecoboost motor, but also the 6.2 (think Lariat Limited). Some really good deals on full size pickups right now. Only other truck I would consider would be the Sierra Denali.

The F-150 is quieter than the 335i even after I had turned the 335 back to stock. Surprisingly the F-150 even rides nicer. All around great daily driver. Only reason I would go for the V8 F150s is if I couldn't live without that V8 sound, but I guess that's what the 4.0 M3 V8 is for. The Ecoboost is powerful enough to accomplish any task I can throw at it.
