Engine Misfire?

Today after accelerating briskly to 120 kph, the check engine light came on in my '09 328i. At that point the engine became very rough and caused severe vibration at around 100 kph or greater. I pulled over and switched off the engine. After restarting, the check engine light did not come on again and the engine worked fine for the rest of the day. What may have been the problem and should I be worried? Thanks.

The code will be stored in the ECU. You need to get the code read in order to begin a diagnosis.
