New member: ordered my first Bimmer
I've been a lurker here for the last month or so. I debated between the E92 and the Audi A5, but the test drive sold me on the E92. Put down the deposit and finalized my order today. This will be my first Bimmer; a present from myself for finishing b-school (with high honors) and landing a job at a top consulting firm. This site was very helpful, to say the least, as I mulled over what options, color, trim, etc. I wanted on the car.

Congratulations! I'm going through the same process right now, and I'm just days away from getting my first Bimmer. (Montego Blue 328i E92.) Like you, I was also considering an A5.
And it was also a graduation gift that I got for myself for finishing medical school! |

It sounds like it's going to be beautiful and nicely equipped. Make sure to post pictures when it comes in and don't forget the inside too. The Bamboo is really a nice trim.
Happy waiting, hope it goes by quickly.

Advantage of the A5:
They may be pretty silly reasons, but they're as legit as anyone else's. Can't wait - my baby arrives any day now. (Just exited the Port Hueneme VPC and is waiting to be trucked up to Northern California!) |

Congratulations on the car and job. I'm sure you will enjoy your new bimmer. The A5's looks are hard to look past. I had a tough time not picking up the S5 instead of my 335.

CONGRATS! You can't go wrong with the 328. I have one now, and one on order. It will be nice to trade up! I love them. I ordered space grey as well. Good luck and make sure to check out the "new & preowned ordering" section on the home page... it's a big help! Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
I'm still debating whether or not to do PCD. I'm going on an extended trip to Asia (5 weeks) beginning in June. I'm back in the States on July 11th and would really like to pick up the car then. But then, PCD sounds like it would be an awesome experience. That would mean, however, another week to ten days before I can pick up the car. Also, my girlfriend really warmed up to the idea of doing PCD after watching Fast Five this weekend |
