My newish 328i
Hey so i barely turned 18 so dont kill me.
My parents bought a 328i in 08 and recently they told me that its mine now. So i've recently thought of some mods for my car externally. Cause i cant really do anything with the internals for a 328i so ive heard. If you guys have any suggestions on how i can mod my car it would be helpful. Right now i only have angel eyes and thats it. Im planning on tint, matte black grill, some type of lip, either a csl trunk or spoiler lip (still debating cause of money), i dont really know the rest. Im still a beginner so please be gentle lol.

THey give you the title? They make the repairs? Pay for tires and brakes. My son thought similar but I explained that when he is on his own he can do what he wants. The all season 16's on his subaru do the job. If he puts high performance tires on it and wear out then its on his dime not mine. Im paying for school, car, insurance and repairs. I told him I would give him title to the car if he starts modding except for tint. When that happens Its his responsability. Not punishment, just don't see my job is to keep my son in luxury. I give him what he needs. IN the scheme of things, not a bad deal. Lots of his friends don't have a car. |

All I have to say here is "congratulations!" Nice ride, especially for an 18-year-old. Personally, and this it just my opinion, drive it for a bit and get a feel for what you want to do, mod-wise. The car will have a personality and you'll spruce her up accordingly. You might not need to salt your food before tasting it.

If you've never modded a car before then pay to have a professional do the work if you're doing things that could damage expensive parts or put yourself in danger when driving. Tint is pretty easy to screw up but if you do then you just rip it off and do it again. More mechanical/electrical things are pretty easy to do incorrectly and could cause some pretty bad outcomes.
I vote give it a good sound system though. I like riding in my gfs BMW more now that the sound is good. Big rims will just ruin the ride and putting all the m-tech stuff on just makes it look like a wanna be m3. |

Im paying for my school, insurance and any repairs for my car. Its just a graduation present for graduating high school. (i know high school is a little thing) All mods are coming from my own pocket, I would never ever use my parents money for these types of things. I would never want my parents to say want me to pay for it cause i would say no right away. I even feel terrible that they gave me this car but they insisted so I just said okay.

Told mine, get into an accident and there is always public transit. They didn't get BMWs, be very thankful Most of anything you do will be dictated by money be it yours or theirs. Get your budget together first and then ask, what can I do with $$? Sounds like you will have a nice looking car.

I don't mod my 328 mainly because it's a lease but if I had the cash and the will I'd add CSL style wheels first. Next a blacked out grill and that's about it. The car is so cleanly styled it doesn't need anything else. Maybe a tint.

Welcome fellow teenager LOL.
Some good mods for your E90. -HID Fogs -White LED Turn Signals -Interior LED lights -License Plate LED lights -Matte Black Amber Overlay -Matte Grille -Blackline Lights -Black and white roundels -Muffler Delete All should cost under $400. Don't take car to college. I hear too many bad stories. Get a daily driver....my daily driver is a 2008 Acura TL. Its good reliable car and its fast 0-60 in 5.9 seconds it handles decent. But congrats on the E90 I hope you enjoy it and remember to thank your parents everyday . |

Congrats! I got in my 330 when I was 19. Bit of a mixed reaction at first but have since come to love it.
Black grilles are the biggest change imo. You can then go for LCI headlights (if you have halogen) and blacklines. These are quality mods which will make your car look MUCH nicer without some of the cheap-lookingness associated with things like black roundels and matte black _____. It's your car, so try things out. I modded my car and at one point realized I didn't want anywhere near the amount of money invested in mods that I had and parted out most of them. Definitely a learning process, though a really fun one! |

You're off to a good start. Do lots of research, wait, do more research, and then mod as you find appropriate. Nothing makes one as fond of their car as spending the hands-on time customizing it to their personal taste. Also, welcome to e90post - this place is a treasure trove of knowledge (and snark). Good luck!

Before you do any mods, thing about what you own, a BMW. Don't turn it into another piece of you know what.
There are many excellect mods you can do, please check out our sponsors first. http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=53
