Trading for 335?

Hello all - I'm almost sorry to bring up this topic as I've seen a few out there, but I could really use some help. I currently have a 2011 Mustang GT with the premium package. While I love the sound and performance of the V8, I've just never really been able to get over the (for lack of a better term) cheap interior. My other complaint is that the SRA tends to create a very "floaty" ride, something I'm not used to coming from a 350z. So long story short, I've come across a 2011 335i with M-sport package that is equipped exactly how I want it at a great price.

My question for everyone is - would I be losing a ton in performance? Or rather, would the loss in performance be offset in the gain of better materials / refinement? Half the people I talk to about making this trade think I'm crazy for doing it and the other half think I'd be crazy to not do it. So I've come here for some help.

i personally dont think youre losing performance no. so the mustang weighs just about 30lb more and makes 412hp. a tune and downpipes and youll make that at the flywheel with the 335 as well, with much more torque and low and end torque too. take a look at the n54 dyno chart thread. people make that 412 to the WHEELS with a tune, downpipes, and meth alone. what im saying is dont worry about losing power, it can be achieved back easily plus much more for much less $ than the stang. oh and the 335 doesnt feel boaty so thats a plus

If you're not going to race and just enjoy driving spiritedly throughout the city and highway, the 335i is the right car for you. It's still a good car if you want to push it or race once in a while. If you want a car just for performance and the track, I'd stick with the Mustang.

I am sorry man every BMW owner that might say 3 series is more luxurious then the Mustang has been accused of drinking BMW Kool aid by our resident stang fan boys. So there must be some thing wrong with you look very closely your Mustang interior is actually better then the cheap 3 series interior. If you can't realize this difference then you are not looking close enough.

There are some posters in the other thread that are pretty sick and tired of their crappy 335's. I am pretty sure they will jump on the opportunity to trade with you.

On the more serious note. If you trade in a fairly new car you will take a huge loss. I would try to sell it myself and then look for a good CPO 335i if that is what you want.

Thank you, sane person. I agree. This is a BMW enthusiast forum and we have tons of actual BMW owners vehemently defending the Mustang and making a case how great it is. I don't get it.

My vote is for the 335i, but this is a BMW forum so that's probably not a complete surprise. Test drive it first and see what your thoughts are. Think about it financially, too. If it makes sense, go for it.

Come on where are all our resident stang fans

This is your opportunity to jump ship to the great almighty Mustang GT 5.0

Come on crappy useless BMW 335 or JD power approved Mustang GT 5.0

Some one jump on this deal of a life time.

I am sorry OP but I want to help some of our bitter 335i owners get their dream car. I hope you don't mind.
