Anyone in UK managed to source an iPhone 4 Media cradle yet?
A few posts elsewhere are confirming this is now finally available in US.
Just tried local dealer who told me that part is listed as being "on-hold" by BMW. He suggested this normally means it is "under test". Just wondered if anybody in UK had managed to get one? (still not sure whether to buy one anyway as "Apple White cable" is giving everything I really need right now anyway including 6NR etc) Cheers |

Well, there is one thing you will get... Potentially better reception due to antenna. So it may be worth it?

The white Apple cable doesn't give you the plugin aspect of 6NR, nor the ability to use the better reception by using the car's shark fin aerial. I find that web radio can drop out quite a bit because the reception in the car isn't so great, and is even worse when in the armrest.
There might be one or two with the XX392 cradle who got them before they were recalled in about Jan. They caused the iPhone 4 to overheat so the new one has an integral fan. I guess you will find that if you use web-radio a lot, like I do, that the iPhone can get very hot indeed via the Apple cable, and if you imagine the data and processing required for plugin video then I can see why they recalled it. You might have thought they would have tested such new features thoroughly before bringing to the market.
