how much for trading in a 2006 330i with 70K miles?
Hey everyone,
just wanted to see if anyone has recently traded in their 330i and how much the dealer gave for it? What trade in value can I realistically expect on a 2006 330i with 70K miles, great condition, well maintained, monaco blue with terra interior? Only have premium package on it. Edmunds says trade in is around $15800 in excellent condition, so am i justified of hoping to get 14K at trade in? |

I have a 2008 CPO 328xi and the dealer i am doing business with is giving me 22,000 as well as selling the new car I special-ordered for 500.00 over invoice. Another dealer was going to give me 19,000.00 It really is subjective to what the dealership is going to give you, since you do not know what the overhead cost is on the cars of their lot. Sure, they can give you KBB- but they may not doing anything substantial on the asking price. I would check cars.com/autotrader.com's asking prices for similarly equipped cars. Then print out 'TMV', KBB, and blackbook. Find the average of those three prices and maybe aim for that? That's all the information I can give... Good luck!

I would think $14,000 is fair - if I had the money I'd buy a 330i with ZPP / ZSP / iDrive (I know, you don't have the last two) in a heartbeat (with around 70k miles). The car is reliable, and N/A (no need to worry about what all the N54/55 guys are worried about - fuel pump/long cranks)
I'm not sure about the color combination, and I would truly hope to get $14k from them. Also, Kyle recommended checking auotrader/cars.com - have you done that yet?

Im pretty sure you can get 14k from the dealer, but in my experience the trade in values vary wildly depending on what you trade for. Best to sell it privately imho.

I had good interest on CARS.COM when I sold my E90 330I.(200$ less than my asking price which was my decision since I didn't have time to have a professional detail done before turning over the keys to the new owners.) I originally posted it on E90post and all the other car forums but, dealt with Lowballers. The 330's seemed to drop a ton back in 2008 when people were jumping into the 335's but since then the value of the 330's haven't really dropped much since. I think you could get 15.5-17.0k easily from listing on cars.com.

I've found that Edmunds "average condition" "trade-in" is pretty close to the price that a dealer will offer for a pristine car.
You may not like it but that is the way it works. |

FWIW, and from someone in the market to buy exactly your car ('06 330i), and after looking at a great deals of listings of '06 330i, I would probably price yours at 15k. I would pay up to 16k for sport package, 17k-ish for sport + Navi.
Hope this helps and glw your new purchase. |
