Vehicle "in transit" what exactly does that mean

Called 800 number and found out that 335i is "in transit". Does that mean it is actually on a ship sailing to US. or is it just loaded onto a ship waiting to embark? Build date 3/13. Should I figure another 3 weeks until it shows up at dealer? TIA.

Could be both. Your best bet is to call your CA and find out.

Also, Go to this link (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...rackType=Auto). Input your VIN where it says Cargo ID and it should tell you the status of your shipment (i.e. your car).

how long does it take for your car to show up, by entering your VIN? 2 days?

My sad story is that my car was built 3/6 and still isn't at the Port. It finally was released to the carrier Friday (3/16). According to my CA and BMW N.A. it still is "awaiting transport to the port of exit."

In transit on the 800# = en route on the OC...your car is on a ship and heading for your garage.

Mine was built on 3/13 and is on a ship. Yours is probably on the same ship or the one that left the day before. I printed out the Bremenhaven to New York shipping schedule.

Me too-- completed 3/8 and wasn't released until Friday 3/16-- I've missed 2 ships already and might not get another to SC until next week.

Which ship? What method is used to order the cars after production? Mine (3585XXX) was also complete on 3/13 and hasn't been dispatched yet from Munich to the port (according to 1-800#).
