Exclamation Vishnu N55 Large and in Charge Pipe

Update: Now available for sale.... http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n55...ipe/cpipe.html

First batch! Got a few in stock, almost ready to ship. Just waiting on some nice hose clamps. Currently they are unfinished. Just raw fabricated 3.25" (!) aluminum. Not polished (although they are quite shiny). Strangely, this is my preference for my own car. But I'm considering getting some powder coated black for those who want a stealthy look.

Vote and let us know what you guys want in terms of finish.

Compared to stock N55 charge pipe

Nice thick walls suitable for drilling/tapping meth nozzles

Not to hijack, but can anyone explain or point me to a thread that explains just what this thing can do for us N55 folks. Is it of any use if you're not running meth? Thanks.

Are you drilling the holes to hook up the meth? Or do I have to do that myself?

Upon order, we will provide an option for having the pipe pre-drilled and tapped for the dual methanol jets that will come with our pwm meth kit.

The chargepipe should result in slight power gains. I have yet to actually test it on the dyno so I'm going to hold off on official claims until I do. But judging by the design of the stock pipe and how we are running the turbo at it's absolute max flow limit, it's reasonable to expect to see 4-5whp from it. The larger radius bend, smoother transitions and larger diameter will definitely reduce pressure loss. And pressure loss reduction is even more important in the n55 than it is in the n54 which doesn't have such turbo limitations (ie, it can simply run more boost to overcome the pressure loss)
