iDrive question
what exactly is an iDrive? i know its a computer system, but what else...?
also, for a car such as 328i, the i stands for iDrive right? if i get a 328i without nav, then it defeats the purpose of the "i" in this case? Thanks, Last edited by ericlol; 04-06-2011 at 09:06 PM.. |

the "i" stands for petrol version, if there were a d, it's diesel
iDrive gives u more options for music, phone connection, BC, climate options, some additional settings(day time runing lights etc.) |

And to amplify further, iDrive is included with Navigation (& vice-versa). It actually refers to the interface which includes the navigation screen and more extensive control of the stereo, climate control, service info, trip computer, and various other functions.
A 328i or 335i will run on gasoline - the i anachronistically stands for fuel injection and has nothing to do with iDrive. A 335d will run on diesel - thus the d. Either one may or may not have the $2,100 iDrive/navigation option. Tom |
