things like this make me mad!!!!

How these yanks can moan about the cost of fuel when they are paying that ridiculous amount baffles me, there was someone on there moaning that he had to pay $0.90/L for diesel?!?! i think we would all have an M3 if fuel cost that much over here, plus they are about 2/3rds the cost to buy over there. I was in San Diego with work last year and went ot the local dealership, could of had a fully loaded M3 for $60K, or £36,363 using the exchange rate at the time I was there i have now depressed myself and apologies if i have upset anyone else! They make a profit. The American market is BMW's single biggest market. Germany is second and U.K. is third.
American prices are as a result of competition in a market which represents the third most populous country on the planet with the average highest disposable income. The foreign car makers can't arrange their prices to more closely reflect European prices. The domestic car market would then have an overwhelming appeal and the foreign company sales would plummet. They have no choice, the prices they charge in the U.S. are at a level that enough people will buy at. |

Still, we get ripped off and that can't be argued. Market size/competition/etc all add to the equation but there comes a point where the piss is being taken, this country is a rip off. I deal with pricing structures for emea and asiapac for my job so am well aware of what goes on but it annoys me when the yanks moan about how expensive fuel etc is, and how cheap they can buy their cars!

Just to put things into perspective the price of a M3 in Asia is roughly about twice what it is in the UK http://paultan.org/2007/12/10/e92-bm...d-in-malaysia/
RM 668 800 = £136996..shocking..why is there so much variation in the price of the same car all over the world..fucking Governments and their taxes..obviously pocket money for politicians..makes me sick! |
