Differential Oil

I bought a used 325i 2006 at 81k miles. No idea how the old owner maintained it. so I have plenty of work ahead.

I will change, Oil & Filter, Power Steering Fluid, Air Filter, Sparks, Coolant Fluid, Windshield Fluid, ATF (to be done later).

I want to know what to use as fluids for those above.
Differential Oil (other than BMW OEM, do you know of any decent brand? any specific info to look for?)

- Coolant Fluid (same question)
- Windshield Fluid

Regarding ATF, like everybody I've read both views, I'm leaning towards changing it at 81k miles specially that I feel a tiny little delay on the 1st to 2nd gear sometimes, it's a bit annoying. I've read that when you change the oil this delay will be gone. what do you think?

Any help would be appreciated.

I will change it asap, although it's quite expensive. I asked and it's 39 $ a quart. & i need around 9.5 l :S.

for the differential the dealer said they use Motul 75w90, is this the best oil to use?

2007 335i Coupe  [8.37]
Motul or RedLine 75w90 are both great fluids for the Diff.

Search around on here, there are other options for the AT fluid, and other vendors that sell it much cheaper.

Change the ATF. Mine was nasty. I used Mercon SP to replace the drained oil, and purchased the pan from the The CTSC.

I used royal purple in the rear diff. Been great for 20k miles.

Have you had the Mercon SP in for 20k?

Nope just about 300 miles. The RP in the diff has been there for about 20k miles.

There is really no reason to keep that ATF in for so long. Mercon SP is cheap (~$5/qt) and a new pan/filter is only $120.

I'm in full agreement about the ATF. I'd just like to see a few more people trying out fluids other than LF6 before I jump in. Thanks for giving it a shot.
