Rear Sunscreen Shade Jammed!!!
I have been trying to get the rear sunscreen shade down on my E90 and unfortunately had no luck with it yet. When i press the rear screenshade button, the side support beams (that go up and down) move slightly to an angle and stop. I tried to push them down but i am afraid they will break if i push harder.
Does anyone know if there is a manual way to bring the rear shade down. My car is an 06 E90 330i. |

have someone put their hands on the supports of the sunshade and push in (lightly!) while you hit the button. The support arms get stuck as they get older. Mine gets stuck every time I use it, its such a piece of crap.

57K on my E92 and this has happened to me a few times... I never saw much usefulness in the shade to begin with though, so consequently I never use it anymore. Does anyone actually like the thing? I can't imagine it making much of a difference if you're sitting in the back seat.

I am having this same problem (support arms stuck) at 54k on my E92. Does anyone know if this is covered under CPO Warranty by chance?

I just bought an e92 about 3 weeks ago an mine stopped working after 2 days of owning the car. It has 32k miles on it and the dealer is saying it run $900+ to have it fixed yet it was only a $300 option. Not covered by BMW warranty....all this and I just bought the car what dirt bags.

My 2012 335is with 13000 miles is stuck in the up position. Car is out of warranty and dealer quoted $2000 for the repair. Any recommendations?

I've been trying the method of hitting the bottom and then manually lowering the arms but I'm not having any luck. Anyone have any other ideas? I hear the motor tick but not work. Would that be covered under CPO?

Then, don't touch the damn button again. If you don't hear the motor, you probably popped the fuse while it was straining to lower the shade. |
