Placed my E92 order but with the 3/1 prices

I placed my order for a 335i coupe yesterday but I got it with the March 1st price increase. I was a bit PO'd at my CA for not mentioning the increase to me the previous week, but from what I hear he wouldn't have been able offer price protection being so close to the increase.

I originally got him down to $51,808 with MSRP of $55,600 a week ago. When I came in, I got the bad news. PRICE INCREASE!!!

After checking the BMWUSA.com myself on my phone. I confirmed the new MSRP for the same build was $56,350. We agreed at $52,505. About $665 over invoice by calculation. Good deal for the New England area?

My build:
2011 335I COUPE
- 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
- SPACE GRAY METALLIC
- BLACK, LEATHER SEAT TRIM
- CONVENIENCE PACKAGE
- PREMIUM PACKAGE
- M SPORT PACKAGE
- HEATED FRONT SEATS
- BAMBOO ANTHRACITE WOOD TRIM
- NAVIGATION SYSTEM
- HARMAN KARDON SURROUND SOUND
- IPOD/USB ADAPTER

The car is expected for delivery in the end of April. I am coming from a 97 328i and this is my first new car, so this is going to be quite an experience.

I do need some advice for the additional protection options. Obviously the LoJack, Simoniz, and the NBIC registration stuff is total BS IMHO. The only option I am thinking about is the extended warranty (6yr/100k) for $2500 with $50 deduct. My problem is that I will be doing some minor mods and the price is a bit steep. Any opinions on this?

What price increase? (unless you meant being forced to get msport because sport isn't available anymore?)

The MSRP for the 335i coupe went from $43,150 to $44,100 effective March 1st.

Yes, the Sport package is gone but the M-Sport package went from $3,000 to $2,800.

From what I gathered from other forums, the Steptronic is becoming a no cost option. So good news if you plan on buying with that option but bad news if you wanted the 6MT. Feels like BMW is trying to fade out the manuals.

Werid. My salesperson said there was no change in pricing.

Are you sure about the increases?

EDIT: Scratch that, saw it on the bmwusa site... msrp has gone up.

Yup! I fully agree. I think it will be a sad day when the "Ultimate Driving Machine" only comes in Auto. Getting my 6MT was a struggle since I wasn't willing / able to absorb the price increase. I got lucky though and found one!

Agreed, sad day indeed!

I checked around for a decent new 335i with 6MT but most were bare or the 335is, which was even more expensive than the one I ordered with only minor performance increase in IMHO.
