335i Coupe depreciation lst year
Purchased my 335i Coupe in Oct 06. Presently has less than 5K miles. I was interested in possibly ordering a convert so just thought I would check things out. My dealership would only accept my car in trade if I agreed to take a 15% hit ($52K x 15% = $7,800 hit) and purchase new at MSRP. Nice charge for 4 months use of supposedly a hot selling car! And I thought USA cars took a big hit after driving the cars off the lot!
Needless to say, I decided I loved my tiptop more than I originally thought and told the dealership to forget it. Would you have thought the value of our sweet babies would go so low in 4-5months? Call |

I have traded in my 95 maxima for a 01 Galant GTZ, and then traded that in for the E90. For all I know, dealers WILL always cut you big time when you trading in your cars man. You start losing the value of a car (no matter what kind of car) the second you purchased it. Trade in's are never fair.

Yeah, it sucks. But that's standard depreciation for any vehicle....once it's titled and off the lot, you're looking at 12-15%. Where high resale comes into play is in the first 36 months. Most cars will depreciate over 50% after 3 years!! BMW's tend to be lower...in the low 40%'s, historically.

Your dealer would have made $5000 reselling your car. Get a Procede or a Turbo Tuner, you'll love your car even more.

Yeah, you will lose no matter what the hell you do. It sucks big time. The dealer has to make money with everycar you trade in. So the buy cheap to sell "fair" prices. You best bet is selling it yourself.

You can either buy a used car, or buy a new one and wait three or four years. Couldn't find a used car I wanted with the miles I wanted, so I said screw it and bought a new one. |
