I can't even imagine why you would ask such a question. Perhaps you could elaborate.

No actually believe it or not the automatics are much faster than the manuals! They hold boost whrn shifting gears and it multiplies torque, also the automatics have a bit of a higher top speed due to the gearing. The fastest 335i's out there are autos

I wouldn't go with much faster. Slightly faster is more like it.

you're the one making outrageous claims without proof.

MT barely loses any boost on shifts with the latest tunes. coupled with less drivetrain loss, they're about even with AT if the MT user can actually shift.

AT being quicker or faster are just "feel good" bs claims people make so they feel superior. how often do you reach top speed on the track or on the street? hell, how many people even have a speed delimiter?

there isn't much performance advantage to either transmission.

Although he went about it wrong. There is some truth to what he is saying. Holding boost through gears isn't the whole story, the gearing has alot to do with the difference. But take into consideration that the difference is so minimal, that its still a drivers race no matter what.

The AT is definatly geared to accelerate faster up to 130 MPH or so.

Actually you're wrong. AT has shorter gearing 1-5, holds boost thru the shift, has 100ms shifts compared to a quick 6mt shift of 200ms. The 6mts still have bogging issues on both piggybacks at high boost, and gearbox itself isn't much of a joy to drive. I owned both mt and at and I prefer the AT in every way shape and form.
