335d e92

Guys,

Recently traded a 330d e92 for an LCI 320i e93, and whilst I love the looks of the new car I miss the power of the derv so much so I cant help myself from looking at the AUC stock in local dealers

I have seen the following car and I am interested in opinions on price and spec, needs 19's granted but CSL option on another thread is a consideration.

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/de...A1MFBXNjAzNjU=

I have made contact with the stealer and hope to visit at the weekend, but expect i will be hooked when i test drive,,,,,,

Was thinking of changing the wheels anyhow but now looking at changing the car, arghhhhh !!

Thoughts welcomed

YK cars are BMW owned and registered from new. I am guessing that it's had two previous owners BMW and one other.

My car was a YK08 and came pre registered with 11 miles on the clock.

sorry, but the 20i engine is the worst engine bmw make (have ever made?). A dive for more than 2 minutes would have this confirmed to anyone - no disrespect!

So general consensus would be revert back to derv, wouldn't disagree, what about the actual car listed for age, price, spec and mileage etc worth pursuing or continue looking ?
As stated earlier had a 330d previously so how does this compare with the 335d and should I consider both or hold out for the 335d ?

Looks good and the mileage is not bad.

Personally I'd change the wood but it's no biggy.

No, just avoid the 4 pot petrols.

To the other question - no, I think a 20i is worse than a 16i or 18i because you kind of expect poor performance out of them.

BMW lead the market of 4 pot derv (and 6 pot), but thier 4 pot petrols are pants.

I did 1500 miles in a 320i and there was NOTHING going for it ove rthe 20d. Slower, no less nice to rev, shit economy...

Does it have to be derv? 330i is a beauty if you wanted a change from a d.

Only thinking of running costs as do approx 17-20k miles per year, would think the 6 pot petrol would cost too much at the pumps ??? In saying that the 320i is rotten in this area also ! Really don't know why BMW have it as an option except COST ???

At that mileage it makes sense

Should get about 40mpg from the 335d

About 32mpg from the ED 330i.

Both average. More on m-way.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the turbo 4 pots perform.

The 20i unit does seem to be rather a damp squib.

I've yet to hear a single good word about it!

Nice spec, nice low milage, I don't like the wood and if it were me I'd try and get one with the later idrive.

Is it not the later I drive?? The controller looks like the revised version. From the 2008 one I had anyway.

JLR,

The newer iDrive has various shortcut buttons around the "knob". I builds from Sept 2008 had the "new" CIC hard drive based system.

Check out the interior view on this car

That's the newer version.

OP, the newer iDrive really is much better, I would hold out if I were you.

Wow, this was originally listed at £26,990 when I went to see it just before the new year
I had turned up without an appointment and the car was stuck in their private compound but they were happy for me to take a quick look.
It's a nice car, but the wood and out-dated idrive kinda put me off. If it helps, the chap I spoke to says the previous owner was an older gentleman who traded it in for an LCI, and suggested it hasn't been ragged (too much) lol ;-)
