Pick up a CPO, keep it three years, and then you will not pay full price for a F30.

It is expensive to be first, unless you do not care.

We are talking atleast another full year until the car comes out and is at the actual dealers... if you can buy a beater for a year I would do that

If you could find a decent deal on a CPO 335i then you could sell it not having it cost you too much to have owned for a year or two. Then you could get an F30.

I am only recently coming up to speed on the F30 so this may be a dumb question, but is there enough information about the lineup to know if there will be a 335i (or similar model) offered at launch?

I don't know if it is right but I've heard that F30s should come out in late (december ish?) 2012. is that true? then that is almost 1.8 years

Likely the Spring-Fall of 2012 for the US, so at least another 12-16 months from now.

F30 should follow the timeline of the introduction of the F10 last year. European orders start in March, US customer can probably get one in May 2012.

Remember, this is for F30 (sedan). F32 coupe won't be around until mid 2013.

If you are looking for the new F33 Vert, that may not be available until late 2013 or perhaps even early 2014... that 6/7 year product cycle is keeping my 07 E93 still looking new

Just did exactly that. Let them work out the kinks and wait for the initial demand dies off so you don't have to pay MSRP.

I'd find a lease to assume for 12-16 months, then go for the new model.

I just ordered a new 335i coupe to lease for 36 months. I didn't even know there'd be a F30 coming out so soon. Actually, I don't think they're coming out til spring of '13? Coupes at least? I wouldn't be interested in sedans anyways. I'm anticipating my salary to jump up considerably in the next few years so maybe I'll spring for another 335i equivalent then or maybe even an M3.

I never like being the first to buy new model that comes out. I hate the way the dealers gouge by not allowing any discounts. To me, the price starts at invoice, and they need to work their way up, not the other way around me starting at MSRP working my way down.

What he said. If you absolutely must the have the F30, lease a E9x now and pick up the F30 in 3 years.

F30 vs 535i.

It will be interesting to compare a new 335 VS a used 535i for me in a few years when I get ready to make that move.

Minor bugs and fixes is the problem with absolutely ALL new cars. The testing they do however being thorough is not enough and recalls and updates will follow shortly after a model's release.

I just got me a 2011 E92 LCI 335i and will not regret it a bit when the F32 comes out in few years.

I personally would get a CPO E92 now and then in 3 years or so get the F30, the E92 "should" hold its value better than the E90's will when it come to resale. That should help when it come to get the new model.
