Smile Procede PWM Meth datalogs

Hi guys,
I've spent the last few days dialing in the new methanol system. And I'm now officially a believer of constant pressure/PWM control for meth injection. I'm running 15.5psi with TWO m10 nozzles at 150psi and injecting Boost Juice (50/50 water/meth). And I can't even get the engine to hiccup. Definitely overkill but goes to show that constant pressure really helps with it comes to atomization. Even during transients where conventional variable pressure systems tend to lag behind demand and then dribble meth/water until pressure builds.

Here's some logs from today:

Some observed difference between PWM Meth and convention variable pressure systems:

1) Meth flow is IMMEDIATE with the PWM system. There is no delay between demand and actual flow. This is because there is no need to wait for boost to build to activate the pump to build the pressure to initiate the flow. Instead, there is always 150psi of pressurized meth/water just inches upstream of the nozzles, waiting for the Procede-controlled solenoid to start pulsing.

2) Running progressive mapping results in virtually no time at which the car is running on MAP1. Since flow targets are hit instantly, so is MAP2. The end result is no measurable transition time between the two map settings.

3) Post shift recovery is spectacular. As you can see in the datalogs, full meth flow is achieved instantly upon gear engagement. None of the usual 0.3-0.6 seconds of "no flow" time between gears.

4) Perfect integration with traction control. Now when the throttle closes from traction control intervention, meth flow stops INSTANTLY. And once the throttle reopens, meth flow starts INSTANTLY. Really remarkable.

More datalogs to come later this week. Along with pics of the final kit

Cheers,
shiv

Alright, anyone interested in a slightly used Vishnu Rev1 Meth kit?

I'm onboard for the new one!

Timing wise the old kit can produce better results then what was posted above. What is the big deal here.

So is the pump running/cycling on/off, the entire time the car is running? I'd be curious to see long term affects to seals and connections pre-solenoid, I know there were issues a few years back with the pump o-rings failing and such due to constant high pressure. Perhaps that's been addressed since then.

Shiv

Do you believe that the meth integration would alleviate carbon build up on our valves? I know that a moderator was rebuilding his motor and found very dirty valves. Meth does help in cleaning the system - correct?

Lovely work.

Thanks.

I expected to see some DC increase with rpm, but looks like continuous volume throughout rpm range? The meth flow channel is valve DC right?

I do like the continuous pressure. 5psi switch right, and meth can flow at part throttle also if certain conditions are met? Can you change at what psi the pump is activated and of course fully customize meth flow?

I'm understanding that you can control whether the system is on/off by the map you have selected.

if this new system is wired i like complete Aquamist systems it is running off of IDC (injector duty cycle).

I dont see that value in his logs.

I'm very currious about this as well. Back in the day when I used to do DIY H20 injection kits for my cars I used a pre-pressurized accumulator tank to keep pump pressure constant and not have the pump running all the time.

I think Shiv is injecting based on rpm and boost from the procede. I know Aquamist runs off IDC, but I take it it's easier to implement with procede the other way... basically the same. I think he's showing no delay in injection, but it would be difficult for me to see unless typical meth logs are compared side by side. Also clearly you don't need the same injection at low rpm compared to the top end.

I believe its a 5psi switch which activates the pump and the valve is cycled by the procede.

so your saying the pump is not running until 5psi is hit and then it primes ahead of the valve?

Correct. I'm using a adjustable pressure switch to start the pump when boost > 8psi. Although I will probably drop this to 5psi. I'm currently not following injector DC or calculated fuel consumption as a Meth DC% reference. Instead, I'm following a combination of engine torque and IAT. Just testing out difference scenarios to determine if and where it is possible to over-meth the engine as I could easily do with the old variable pump pressure system.

Here's a low rpm pull showing the progressive nature of the current mapping:

Here's the raw, uncorrected meth map I'm currently running and that users will have access to. The values will change as we do more testing:

cool, how do you dial in 100% load?

I would like to run meth variable to rpm also. if it mirrors torque or load then you'll have less flow up top. truly progressive to total airflow would be great.
