Mac users please respond!

Can we join together and demand a fix or a good reason that this site does not show properly using Safari? I know there are quite a few of us here that own Macs and we should not be overlooked.

I know I could use Firefox but I like using Safari with tabbed browsing and don't want to have to open Firefox just for this site.

I'm done venting.

Some of the site's features are not seen with Safari. Try opening Safari and Firefox side by side and compare the two next time you on your buddy's G5.

Yes, I suppose I could be missing something, but everything looks fine to me. The only issue I've had is some of the newer .avi files in the video sectioni won't play on a Mac. But that's not a Safari issue.

I know the mac guys are "demanding" a fix for the site, and I'd love to fix the site so it works for everyone.. but its a little hard for me since I dont have a mac... If anyone with problems viewing the site could make a more detailed post saying what exactly is wrong with the site, I would be more the happy to go after it and see if I can fix it.

Please let me know

For your own good, switch to Firefox.
It is superior in every way- and yes- you can get an extension for tabbed browsing.

Yes, I know it has tabbed browsing as well but I prefer to use Safari. The point of this thread was to make the site work with Safari, not to argue which browser is superior.

Well I'll just toss this out there although its a bit OT as already stated.

Maybe if you don't like Firefox on the Mac you might wanna try Camino

Its the same rendering engine as Firefox but inside a pretty Cocoa very Mac-like shell. I use it and as far as I can tell the site works fine.

If an administrator of this forum is reading this message, please PM me to resolve this problem. I'm in computer science using a Mac and having Safari as my primary browser. I looked at the source code (the one that PHP generated) and there are a couple of solutions to render text correctly in Safari. Let me know, if interested.

I have to admit that Firefox is superior to Safari. But for some reason, it feels a lot heavier than Safari. The next version supposedly took care of that issue.

Also, I've never heard of version 5.0 of Firefox. As far as I know, version 1.5 is still only in beta. AND, tabbed browsing in Firefox without installing any extensions has been available since version 0.1. But maybe we're talking about two different Firefox browsers.

Why would I do that? I hate widoze, that's why I bought a mac. Virtual PC would not fix the problem. I can run IE on my mac without Virtual PC but I haven't opened IE in months. I am using Firefox at the moment but would still like to see a fix that would allow Safari to render properly.

I love Safari. Tried Firefox (which I love on Windows) but it didn't seem as smooth and as fast as Safari - that was a year ago though.

I am noticing that the reply form isn't rendering very well and the smiles section spills out to the side and sometimes the hot spots for the smiles are not actually under the smiles...

Also the smile appears at the end of the text, not were the cursor currently is.

These are no biggies, everything works much better than it did originally when I joined the forum...
