Are exhaust leaks bad ? Why ?

So I noticed some exhaust leaks on my BMW Performance Exhaust, at the clamps. Probably I should of tighten them out again after a few hunderd miles from installing it. All the leaks are after the second catalysts. I plan to tighten them when I install my new 3" downpipes.

Is this a bad thing ? The car runs perfectly. But just wondering...

Outside of sounding louder, as long as the leak is after the dp/mp connection, it doesnt matter.

besides being annoying, what does a leak between the DP/midpipe result in? Some say less boost, why does that happen?

Incorrect exhaust readings from your secondary o2 sensors.

The rear o2 sensors don't have any influence on boost.

If the secondary o2 sensors were reading incorrect information would they not throw a code?

Oh yea, I didn't address less boost because I knew that wasn't correct.

Potentially, but only if the leak is significant and they aren't manipulated by O2 simulators or a piggyback tune.

No. It just has a much stronger affinity for heme than O2. Which is why after suffering from carbon monoxide you need pretty much pure 02, and why people can survive carbon monoxide poisoning.
