Cobb AP Stage 1 - boost level
For those who are stock and running a COBB AP stage 1 flash, what's your highest boost you hit?
I did some runs yesterday with the AP installed and using the boost monitor function (which shows your lowest/highest boost during a run) and noticed I hit 17.7 psi! Is that even possible when I don't have any other major mods? I only have a DCI along with the map 1 - oct 91 latest flash. I didn't do any data logs, I was just playing around with the monitor function on the AP. Maybe the boost monitor function isn't 100% accurate on the AP? Or am I interpreting this boost function wrong? Elevation isn't too high about 300 ft above. Curious what you guys are hitting your boost at...and confused why my car is hitting that much boost. |

Most likely a spike like others have said.....if there's a way for you to hold that AP unit close to eye level during WOT, then you can peak over and see the 'sustained' boost which should be close to whatever stg1 boost target is.....
I've gotten spikes as high as 18 psi and i have an AT.

Just to give u an idea, here is a 2-3 shift spike while running a 14.5 psi map.

It's a shift spike 100 percent, how are people still confusing this for actual boost is beyond me. Your engine never even sees that boost pressure.

Don't go by the peak hold in the ap, even with an auto when you get off the boost there is a momentary spike due to the delay of the bovs reacting. First time i saw it i was shocked, then i looked at the logs and it made sense. With the stock ic the ap was showing significatly higher boost hitting 15.5 to 16 psi when you got on the gas then dropping immediately to low 15s and tapering off to low 12's by redline.
My suggestion is to log requested boost vs actual boost and see if there is too much difference. Harry |

What Harry said.
I suppose Cobb could do a smoothing function so those spikes wouldn't bias the peak boost reading on the display, since as it is, it has little to do with reality. |
