2012 models?

does anyone know when 2012 models might be getting announced? i want to lease a 335i coupe the only thing holding me back is a potential 2012 model coming out. i know there wont be any major differences as 2011 was the lci but just curious to see if any new colors might be coming with it. another thing, what's the possibility of any new incentives that might get announced? i know last year there was a 'spring drive' event going around but i dont remember a whole lot. there wasn't too much discussion about it while searching for older thread.

thanks

From some other posts : http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=478305

It seems that the end of production for 2011 e92, and e93 models is sometime near the end of August. No definitive dates yet that I've seen for when they would announce the 2012 e92 and e93 models. I think a lot of the attention right now is when the e90 models switch to 2012, and if that switch would be a short e90 model year, or would it go to the new F30 platform.

I was in the same boat Mango. After some thought I went with s lease of the 2011 E90 to give time for the F30 platform to work out any kinks.

Here is my reasoning for what it's worth...Realistically if the F30 was available by early 2012 you'd be paying MSRP maybe more depending on demand. In 2 years time from launch the car should have all intended features that may have been cut to get the car to market the first year(s) and demand should be lower to give you some kind of leverage to haggle for a price lower than MSRP.

Thank you for the information. I guess there's no reason to wait huh? Probably going to wait until early March when I order it!

Depends on what you are looking for and the timeline you are wanting/needing a car. If you need a car soon, (2-3 month time frame) go ahead and order the car now/early March. If you want the latest and greatest and you are worried about any possible updates, which most likely will be limited to technology updates if anything, then you can wait to see when they announce 2012. For the E92, I don't see much changing per say for 2012, so it will be limited risk ordering and getting a 2011 model or waiting. If you were looking for the Sedan/Wagon, it would be a different story. If looking for wagon, definitely get it now, since not sure what the plans are for the wagon and the US.. As for the sedan, waiting would be risky, since you don't know when they will come out with the 2012 model, plus you don't know if it will be the F30, or a short e90 model year. If it does switch to F30, you may not like the new design/technology, pricing may be more, and the first year models are more risky when it comes to reliability because who knows what new technology they will put in or how they all fit together. If you like the current design and stick with current model, then it would be better to order earlier than later to ensure you get this design.

I totally agree, it's not unreasonable to expect a 3 month wait time for a custom order. With no delay it can take 8 weeks, I've seen posts by people waiting 3 months. I ordered mine on 1/28 and I fully expect to get it in 3 months.
