Why must you assume it was a BMW driver? The article has no mention of it even being stolen

read the comments where readers are clarifying... it was hotel valet that took the car for a joy ride. In order for the owner to recoup the car, he'll have to declare it stolen.

I don't trust no one with my car, especially Valet's... if I have no choice, I make sure that they see me pushing the odometer to check to the current total km's as well as the direct look to him after (the i'll know what you do look).... But that's a last resort. I'd rather park it myself

At 240 km/h that's pretty much a given - I don't think the regular X6 goes that fast (is probably speed limited to less).

the owner of that H6M is so cool about it. He gave an interview to a Quebec news ch. and he was asked if he took the car to that speed, he said he just got it and didn't get the chance to do it yet, when asked what does he think about the car beeing stolen, he said: I don't think he wanted to steal it, just maybe go for a ride! and all that with a smile on his face.
