Sunday Drive in the 335i
I just wanted to say, Damn, I love my car!
My main day to day driving is just local, mundane around town commute. All 30 & 40 limits, and always too much traffic to have fun etc. Today, my boy had an away football match, so had a 70 mile round journey, good mixture of twisties and dual carriage way roads. I got the chance to have a really good run, put the car into DS, turned the computer off so I couldn't see the fuel economy, and had some fun. On most days of the week, I don't get the chance to do this, so I kinda forget that I have a 3ltr twin turbo 300+ bhp car. A few overtaking manoeuvres this afternoon, a bit of playing with a 911 and some just plain simple power displays pulling away from cars (one being a 320d) as they pulled into inside lane as I waiting behind to go past them (not up cars arses though as I hate that), well, It reminded me why I got the 335i in the first place, It really made me smile, and I just thought, well, "what a f**kin' great car" really! I regularly read the forum, and like all forums, people tend to post things when they have problems, so things can get pretty negative at times, and sometimes I wonder what i got a zim'zimmer for, and today I remembered why, so I thought I would share my afternoon joy. Wza, its was a 2-2 draw by the way, they were 2 nil down after 45, definitely a game of 2 halves! |

Awesome! I'd really like a go in a 335i just to see how good they are

yes.....same here...most of the time its town driving...
but when you have clear roads and safe/ dry environment....its pure pleasure!.... a 911 carrera (997) wanted to have a play last time with me.... even with 345bhp.....no major difference when its fast road driving i.e within the 30-70 range in a straight ......1st, 2nd and 3rd gear.... the TTS can easily keep up with a carerra... I reckon the 335i will definitely make a standard carrera sweat.... |

I took mine to the Metro Centre the other day and couldn't believe how good it was at over taking on the little stretch of single carriage way. Was gutted when I got back though as it was filithy again after just being washed.

Well said that man, it really is a great car. Like you say, on many days there's little chance to really appreciate it, especially in winter.
Tell you what though, get a remap and, if the wallet will stretch, a Quaife LSD and that smile will turn into a full blown grin, every day. I love, love, love my 335i. Mike. |

I miss my 335i so much, been working abroad for the last few months so cannot wait to get back to the car and get me a remap or piggy.
Planning on arranging the power upgrade as soon as I get back so it feels like a new car to me after the few months away from it. Damn I miss that sound, call me odd but especially when changing gears using the paddles |
