Child Seats (4yr & 7yr old)
I've got a 320D ED on extended test drive and I love it, in fact the order will probably go in on Monday.
However, the child seats we have for the children are a poor fit in the back, as the seat belt anchor point and buckle seem very close together. Has anyone else found this problem? Unless of course the seats we have are wider than average. As long as I can get some seats to fit the back, it's not a dealbreaker! Steve |

We've got 3 kids under 7 and yeah I find the spacing to get the seats in is hopeless in the touring. They fit easier in our golf.
We use 3 seats with built in 4 point harness rather than just a booster as it saves you breaking your arms trying to get the belt on each time. Not a strong point in the 3 series. Last car was an rs6 avant it it was HUGE in the back, before that was a 5 series and it was similar to the 3 series as the shape of the rear bench wasn't really suited to 3 kids seats. If its just 2 kids seats you need they are fine though. |

I use two Britax Kidfix (ISOfix) seats, for my grandsons, in my E91. No issues for position. In fact they fit very well on the seat and sit in tight, when adjusted on the ISOfix sliders.

I am only meaning 2 seats, not ISO-fix ones. They are more like shaped and supportive booster seats.
They just don't seem to sit correctly in the car and it is hard to fasten the seatbelts. I am worried that the forces on the seat belt buckles might be compromising them i.e. bending them instead of being in tension. Steve |

EXACTLY the same issue here, Steve. Same in the e90 and the e92 with booster seats -presume you mean the normal booster seats not the full ones like the Recaro - the baby seats fitted a bit better but then they don't have the width in the base. Our 7yo is in a Graco now and it's a craptastic fit to a modern car for a modern seat.
We tend to turn them slightly so there's less pressure on the buckle, but be careful not to end up with a wonky seat or it'll be even worse from a safety perspective..

Great solid seat, cheap and fits perfectly into the coupe 'buckets' and my saloon.
