ED in March- ? timing for new changes

I put an order for a 528i on 12/30/10 and took advantage of holiday credit. The price for lease is locked till 2/28/11. I was planning to sign lease docs end of Feb and take ED in first week of March (3/5/11).

But, starting March, new features are added to 5 series models, I wonder if I should delay ED for a couple of weeks to get a car with new changes

Some questions:

1) When does the car actually go into production? Is it two weeks prior to European delivery time?

I understand that if I sign lease papers in Feb and take delivery in 3rd or 4th week of March, I will be paying for one month without using the car (in addition to her being shipped to US)

.

2) I am leasing a 528i. Can someone tell me what features change from March? I do not have HUD & Sport package and I am NOT a iphone user. I am an Android user. Will waiting be beneficial....rather worth it (lease monthly payment is around $600)?

no-one seems to know what these will be.

the only rumour ive heard is that stop/start will be available on the auto's - once again - just rumour.

Been speaking to my dealer (in the Uk)....my car was ordered just before Xmas F11 520d sport. He tells me it is scheduled for build week 7 ( mid Feb) is currently status 1100 ie still ec amendable.

I asked him about adding option code 6nr to allow integration of BMW/Apple connected app etc. This is possible he says but I will need to delay to week build 9 as this is when all 'new' features etc are being integrated into the build process.

I have done this and delayed to week 9 so I can have this featue (extra £130) it is a hardware upgrade so presume you must have this 6nr from initial build to make the App work.

Did your dealer have any specifics on 6NR besides price and availability? It seems priced similar to the Smartphone Integration option - could it possibly be that with a new name?

No specifics but I had optioned already 6nf (smartphone intergration) and that is not being deleted so presume 6nr is completely different but nothing concrete!!!

Thanks Barney, first real data. Still unclear if it can be a software upgrade for pre-March 2011 builds. Fingers crossed.
