looks nice that

To OP, don't forget to tell your insurance, they class it as a handling modification not a cosmetic one I believe. Same as CSL bootlid.

Get an OEM from a dealer, which includes the tape fitting kit! Do it properly!

Nothing wrong with the SSDD version and you may need an M3 chassis number to purchase the bootlip if you get an arsey dealer.

I bought the tape fitting kit from a dealer adn it was shit - spoiler started coming off within 48 hours.

+2 on the spoiler from SSDD. I got one about 5 months back painted and arrived within 10 days with all the fitting kit. Cost around £100 and quality was brilliant. I was expecting the paint match to be off but despite not even seeing my car the colour match was near on perfect. The sticking pads provided are holding the thing on brilliantly, not a single bump or rise anywhere.

The only thing I would say is that the sticking pads were placed on the underside of the lip prior to delivery and were cut to fit the shape of the lip. However, on some sections it wasn't cut perfectly and ended up being too near the lips edge. I didn't think it'd be noticeable but when I stuck the lip down the white sticking pads could be seen and for the first few hundred miles was really telling. Its now 'dirtied' up and blended in with the paint.

I should have really taken a stanley knife to it and cut the pads away from the edge before sticking down but thats my fault as much as SSDD.

I'd get another one from there.

I had one; paint job was terrible.

And you will need an M3 chassis number.

Did you warm the spoiler, tape and boot lid up first? No known issues with factory spoilers falling off. Mine hasn't!

Looks like you might have been unlucky, as quite a few people have had them from SSDD and have had no issues.

No, I didn't warm everything (as I wasn't aware I should have done), but the no more nails tape held tight.

+ on SSDD, havent got the car yet, arrives end of feb as an "11" plate but have the spoiler all ready, dealer refused even if I got an M3 details they just flately said nope cant do it.

The spoiler from SSDD looks really good, paint work I cant fault, comes with plenty of tape on the bottom of the spoiler. With the added advantage that its less than half the price of the BMW one. its a 1 to 1 match so exactly the same. I defy anyone to be able to tell the difference between an SSDD one and OEM one.

Maybe I was, but it was enough to put me off and get the OEM spoiler!

You should normally attach spoilers, etc in warm conditions or warm the surfaces first. I watched the dealer stick mine on and they used (and always use) a heat source to do it, as they do in the factory (so they said).

Anybody recommend where to get a Carbon lip spoiler from?, I have had a look on the net but the prices vary dramatically and I'm not sure why.

Thanks to all for your help, i have decided to get the one from SSDD. I made the decision after taking you views into consideration and reading an old thread when Sikkbass organised a group nbuy a while back from SSDD.

Pretty simple, use the 'manage attachments' button. You may need to resize the image if it's too large.
