Almost New BMW Owner! Ship Unloading Question
Hello all! Figured since the time before I'm sitting behind the wheel of my first BMW is growing shorter and shorter by the day (hopefully!) I should actually join the community instead of just lurking around the forums as a guest!
I ordered a fully loaded 2011 335i xdrive M sport coupe in sapphire black/dakota black leather/bamboo anthracite trim back in November and after tracking the thing every single day, it looks like my ship has finally made it to the Baltimore port!! My CA tells me that once it leaves Bal. it's about a week to Kansas so I'm getting pretty giddy. I had one quick question, and this will mostly play on people's own experiences, but does anyone know about how long it takes for them to get the car off the actual cargo ship? (i.e. what are the chances of my car making it to the VPC today?!) I understand that this is, of course, dependent on where the car is actually located in the ship (knowing my luck it'll be in some dark forgotten corner), but I'm just looking for a general estimate. I've read that vehicles that are already bought get first priority at the VPC which could probably take anywhere from 2 days to a week I think?? Anways, thanks in advance for your input, looking forward to being as active as a BMW newb can be on the forum! |

Welcome! Sounds like a nice configuration, congrats! My ship was in NY port on Sunday. It was done with VPC and loaded onto the truck bound for Boston yesterday. My CA says delivery should be mon or tues : )
Your CA will be able to give you the most accurate updates.

In case anyone actually reads this, I should prob. add that i took delivery of my first BMW two weeks ago and have been loving it ever since, the mod bug has already bitten me (want to pm mod bargains for a remus race quote , hence my worthless posting). I will post pics once I can actually wash my car and take pics worthy of posting! The midwest has just been getting hammered with snow, and so is my brand new baby
