BMW does great in NorEaster!
Hello,
Well today we got somewhat of a NorEaster here in New England. Now the BMW did great theres this hill near my house went up it with ease. Now I only wish the Passat was the same way. It is an 06' VW Passat. And oh man I had to burn so much rubber going up that hill not that It wasn't a little fun but very annoying considering i took the EPS off(with it on I went nowhere up the hill) and it is front wheel drive so should have a bit more stability. Not the case. Maybe I should just get a second BMW? |

Well we had some wintry mix down here in DC, nothing you guys would call snow but we did have some accumulation up to 2 inches on some streets. I must say my 325i on A/S tires did rather well. I'm quite impressed. Its funny to see the DSC light flicker half the time
There is a threshold when the DSC kicks in to correct a slide. Usually, I'd react faster (with countersteer) than the DSC which does a fine job of regining everything in. There was a lot of rear end wiggling but no white knuckles during my morning commute Also I noted that the tires perform better as they warm up (talking about the EL42s). I'm curious to exeperience how much better the x-drive models would perform.

We got about the same weather in DE as KL2DC got in DC. By evening rush hour it was icy as hell and some freezing rain was falling. I was lucky and working from home, but my wife was real happy when she got home and telling me that she could "feel" the xi working as she drove home. Her word was "amazing" for the handling.

NJ we got snow, then a layer of freezing rain, then more snow, xDrive took it in stride.

Hey, with all those salt trucks, just open your door and scoop up a handful.

Then you'd need some fresh hot pretzels to go with the salt

Now wouldn't that be ironic, a salt truck passing by a pretzel cart followed by a beer truck
