328i after break in.

Well I did some racing with a few buddies on my 328i before I was past the break in and posted a few of the results. Well now my car has 1600 miles on it and I did a re race tonight. All I have to say is wow my engine is a heck of a lot stronger, I cant feel it but the races showed it.

First the GTI 1.8T that has a few mods making what he says is 195hp (Which is very conservative), I had about 800 or 900 miles on the clock when I raced him, 1st 2nd gear even and puling in 3rd(a slow walk), now after 16xx miles 1st gear I pull 2nd gear I pull and 3rd gear I can toy with him (when he gets next to me in 3rd and floors it I can floor pas him then let off until he comes even then floor it again and pass him).

Nissan titian before I hardly pulled on him, now off the line I put 1 car on him and continue to pull.

What I noticed tonight is my car redlines at 7k RPM before I recall it would shift at 6,500 or so.

All I have to say is after break in wow something is going on with the ECU or maybe its just the motor being broken in giving full power now.

I really want to get some 1/4 mile times. I was going to go this friday but so far no one can make it with me so I am going to have to pass.

Glad to hear a 328 post! 335i does dominate around here. I just broke mine in (have about 1200 on it). Race is out of the question now due to icy/snowy weather.

+1 157's rock, i am sick of the 189;s on the 335's. everyone has them.

...those 157's are decent enough but way too small for the coupe. I love my rims but they are a b***h to clean.

Pick up trucks are no jokes. Around here we have a lot of chevys that are diesel and with just a chip they will run high 13' second 1/4 miles. Get a turbo upgrade and a chip and you can easily get them into the 12's. chips trucks will easily make 500 HP with crazy amounts of torque up in the 600-700lb range.

Tubonator is based on that siren type ring we had when we were kids (for some of us anyway). The kind that had the turbine blades in it and went whooooooooooo....when you blew into it. It was pretty cool until it broke after a few days, which is probably the same lifespan of the turbonator.
