2011 328i Coupe Lease
Ok, i've read a whole bunch of topics and I still do not understand leasing. I know it's good for me as I always want new cars and don't drive much. Plus the lower payments are nice too. So...i've built up a 2011 328i, space grey/red, sport, heated seats. MSRP is $40,075. What can I expect to pay leasing this? I know the deal right now is $479/mo before taxes. I can do better than that right? Thanks for all your help.

Hello there and welcome! I recommend searching this forum, as there are some recent 328i deals posted. Your build price is about $1500 less than the 2011 328xi sedan 6MT I just ordered. On the lease deal, my dealer gave me $3100 off of MSRP. So 41,615- 3100 = 38500 sales price. Money factor: .0012 (2.88%), residual 58%, 15,000 miles per year, 2500 total out of pocket including all fees, 450 monthly payment including all fees and taxes. 36 month term. Google "online lease calculator." I am sure you will find it very helpful. Also Edmunds.com and truecar.com to find invoice, and negotiate from there. If they have your car in stock- push for a very aggressive deal - dealers want to move their year-end inventory. Good luck and keep us posted!

Like GreenThree said, make sure you get the details from the dealers you're negotiating with so you can compare your numbers to theirs. Its best to work "over invoice" so find the invoice of your car with the options and see how much they are willing to sell it for. Invoice found here: http://www.carprices.com/carresearch...fid_carprices/
If you head over to the bimmerfest.com forums (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=510810) they have the money factor and residual posted every month. Using all this info you can use a calculator online or a spreadsheet (I have one if you'd like to use it) to calculate your payment. This is also important because dealers may give you a money factor (aka interest rate) that is higher than the base rate. Look into the Multiple Security Deposits to lower your payments even more and get the money back after you turn in your lease. If you have any questions feel free to let me know, or if you'd like the spreadsheet let me know as well. Summary: Do your homework and know what everything is BEFORE you negotiate. (Money Factor, Residual, Invoice, Fees, etc.) Good Luck
